Senior Telephony Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Telephony Engineer to join our small but growing team of dedicated IT professionals.  We support the delivery of information technology and Telephony to around 5,500 NHS staff working at Stepping Hill Hospital and over 30 sites in the Stockport community.

The post holder will have significant experience of managing and maintaining a Cisco Telephony Service that includes VOIP, Call Managers and WebEx.  You will have responsibility for operational and strategic support in conjunction with the Network Manager of the Telecoms infrastructure, which contains switches, routers, firewalls, wireless controllers, Cisco Call Managers, VOIP, WebEx, authentication servers etc. Formal Cisco qualification would be highly advantageous.

You will provide technical assistance and support to staff, system administrators, service providers and our colleagues in partner care organisations.  At times you will be required to work off site therefore you must have the use of your own vehicle and a full valid driving license.   You will also participate in an on-call rota to provide out of hours support.

This is a senior position in the department, occasionally deputising for the Network & Telephony Lead in all matters related to Telephony with line-management responsibility for developing, managing and motivating the Telephony Engineer. Strong interpersonal and communication skills will be of equal importance to technical ability.

This is an excellent opportunity to build on your professional development in a progressive and innovative IT department.

The Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment and promote safeguarding by implementing the Trust’s policies and procedures, acting promptly on concerns, communicating effectively and sharing information appropriately.
